Happy Mother''s Day
Often celebrated with breakfast in bed, small trinkets or treasures, sloppy kisses from bright-eyed kids, bouquets of flowers, and beautiful works of art showcasing a sweet poem of gratitude... Mothers Day should really be Mothers Week!
To the many maternal readers and intercessors of NPR... HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
Perhaps in most of our cases, its easy to show the many mother figures in our lives just how much we love and appreciate them. Today, before another once yearly day of celebrating concludes, NPR challenges you to consider a "mom on the fringe." Who do you know who might have her hands full with no one else really around to help? Maybe a young mom who sits in the back row on Sunday morning who you''ve seen before but haven''t introduced yourself to? Maybe a coworker experiencing a difficult separation? Is there a relative who you haven''t been in touch with in quite some time, but you know could use a phone call or a visit with one intention: to share love. Consider those on the fringe... and pray for them!
If God only called us to show love and appreciation to those within our immediate circles - our family and our friends, life would be pretty easy, wouldn''t it? We challenge you, to pray for those women, those mom''s, who maybe have no idea who you are. Ask God to guide you as you go to him on their behalf.
Blessings, from one mom to the next!
