Prayer to the 3rd Power
Friends in the Fight,
Personal prayer is critical to growing your relationship with the Lord. It's a rudimentary practice and privilege to soak in the Holy Spirit and share sweet moments with your Savior.
While one should have a thriving personal prayer life, this in and of itself simply isn't enough to move mountains.
Community and participation in the Body of Christ is essential to effecting change in a big way. God not only calls us away to pray quietly and intimately with him, but to join corporately to call upon his name and war for the souls of others. The Body builds the Body...
Do you meet regularly with a community of believers to pray for each other and for those outside your church walls? You must. Do you focus mainly on internal issues and the oddities of the spiritual dynamics in your church? Or are your fervent prayers breathed out on behalf of those who Jesus calls the the least of these? As a prayer WARRIOR, do you fight as a united Army for the salvation of those who don't know the goodness of our Savior and God? Or do you lay your weapons of warfare down and engage in stagnate and stale conversation with a God whom you're not even convinced is listening?
In Matthew 18:20, Jesus himself says, "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." It shouldn't be surprising that Jesus declares that he will be with us when we gather in his name, but for some reason, it's a repeatedly refreshing promise: He is Immanuel -- God with us.
Make prayer with others a priority. Seek heaven together! Pray for your community together! Pray for each other together! Soak in Jesus together!
This is the privilege of all believers... don't miss out.
